See you in Stokey for festive fun

Dig out your Christmas jumper and warm up your singing voice – Stoke Newington traders are preparing for a gorgeous afternoon of festivities.

See you in Stokey Christmas takes place on Saturday December 4th (4pm-6pm) outside Stoke Newington Fire Station. There’ll be a ukulele band, a choir, a Christmas lights switch on by local children and local shops and restaurants will be serving treats such as mulled wine.

Heidi Early of Earlybird Cards is helping to organise the event. She said: “It’s a chance for the community to come together and to meet with their local traders and enjoy some festive fun. We’ll have song sheets and will gather around the Christmas tree. Various shops on Church St and the High St will have extra festivities in store such as giveaways, mince pies and other treats.”

“We’ll also be collecting funds for the Winter Toy Appeal so would urge people to bring along some change to drop in our collection buckets!  Money raised will buy new toys for local children experiencing extreme poverty.”
