Christmas and New Year prime time for house-sellers

Between Christmas and New Year is the busiest week of the year for buyers searching online for a new home.

Both Rightmove & Zoopla experience HUGE increases in traffic, between Christmas Day & New Years Day, from buyers looking for a new home in the new year!

While some agencies take considerable time out during Christmas and opt for a quiet time, the savvy ones time the launch of their clients’ property sale for maximum impact.

House buyers see the New Year as a fresh start, the perfect time to take the leap and press ahead with plans to buy. By taking advantage of the sheer increase in volume of traffic on property portals Rightmove & Zoopla, properties that go onto the market on Christmas day capture the widest possible audience and drastically increase the number of enquiries from buyers.

Using the weeks before Christmas to book valuations and allow your home to be photographed by a professional, (before the Christmas tree goes up!) will ensure the marketing material is ready to go.

We have a strategy in place that takes advantage of this unique time - preparing everything in advance in order to go live with the property on December 25th for maximum results. We then book all of the viewings into the first/second Saturday of January, after all the festivities!

Location Location was recently ranked 16th in the UK for sales and lettings out of more than 25,0000 agencies. The ranking follows the most rigorous ever analysis of the country’s property data on Rightmove over a 12-month period and over 30,000 mystery shops by industry experts The Property Academy.

The study, which rates individual branches, looked at the number of properties sold and let by each agency, the speed of sale, the number of sales which fell through and the number of enquiries dealt with. Only 87 branches achieved an ‘exceptional’ rating in both sales and lettings.
